José Manuel Vicente Gómez Soberón is a distinguished civil engineer and academic, renowned for his contributions to the fields of concrete behavior analysis and the use of recycled materials in construction. Born on February 11, 1967, in Cd. Serdán, Puebla, Mexico, José began his academic journey by earning a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP), where he conducted groundbreaking research on the setting times of concrete mortars, earning an Honorable Mention.

José furthered his education with a Ph.D. from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC), focusing on the static and delayed deformation behaviors of recycled concrete materials. His doctoral research, supported by the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation, led to significant contributions in understanding the mechanical properties of eco-friendly concrete, resulting in multiple publications in top-tier journals and presentations at international conferences.
