Safia earned her Ph.D. in Geology from Ain Shams University, focusing her research on the systematics and paleoenvironmental implications of Eocene Foraminifera in Wadi Hitan, Fayum Province, and the studies on Nummulites from Egypt, covering biometry, systematic paleontology, and evolution.
