Scientific Biography:
Dr. Hussein Kareem Sultan is a distinguished figure in civil engineering, with an illustrious academic and research career. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from the civil engineering department at the University of Mosul, Iraq, in 1991. Subsequently, he pursued his Master’s degree in structural engineering at Cairo University, Egypt, graduating on 26/8/2013. His academic journey culminated in the attainment of his Ph.D. from the structural engineering department at Mansoura University, Egypt, on 5/1/2017.
Currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Al-Muthanna University, Dr. Hussein has made significant contributions to the field. He has authored numerous technical papers published in esteemed civil engineering journals and presented at international conferences. Additionally, he has authored books on concrete technology and the repair and strengthening of concrete structures.
Research Activities:
Dr. Hussein’s research interests encompass a wide array of topics including reactive powder concrete, self-compacting concrete, fiber reinforced concrete, high-performance concrete, and repair and strengthening of reinforced concrete elements using advanced composite materials. He is actively involved in reviewing research papers for various international journals in the field of civil engineering, contributing to the advancement of scientific knowledge and scholarship.
