Howard Qingsong Tu, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor at Rochester Institute of Technology and Associate Director of the Battery Prototype Center. His career focuses on advancing sustainable energy and environment systems, especially through the mechanics of electrochemistry in solid-state batteries and water desalination. Dr. Tu completed his Ph.D. at UC Berkeley, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. He has co-founded a company, mentored students, and led numerous research projects funded by institutions such as the DOE, NSF, and DoD. He is passionate about bridging lab-scale innovations with industrial applications.
