Investigations on Electromagnetic Forming of Perforated Aluminium Sheet Metals

Aim: Weight reduction in sheet metal forming without compromising strength.
Challenges: Forming perforated sheet metals using conventional processes is difficult.
Solution: Use electromagnetic forming for its advantages such as contact-free force application, no need for lubrication, high repeatability, reduced springback, and high production rate.
Methodology: Experimental forming of perforated aluminium sheet metals and comparison with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) results using ANSYS for modeling and numerical analysis.
