Adriana-Mariana Borș, born on July 6, 1975, is a distinguished Romanian chemist with extensive expertise in environmental chemistry, catalysis, and polymer-matrix composites. With a robust background in both academic and applied research, she is currently serving as a Leading Researcher at INOE 2000 – Subsidiary Hydraulics and Pneumatics Research Institute (IHP) in Bucharest, Romania.

Adriana-Mariana Borș completed her undergraduate studies in General Chemistry at the University of Bucharest (1994-1998). She pursued two master’s degrees: one in Catalysis and Heterogeneous Catalytic Processes from the University of Bucharest (1999-2001) and another in Environmental Management from POLITEHNICA University of Bucharest (2002-2004). She obtained a Ph.D. in Exact Sciences (Chemistry) from POLITEHNICA University of Bucharest in 2007. Additionally, she undertook postgraduate training in Catalytic De-pollution of Gaseous Streams at the University of Bucharest and participated in summer schools and international programs on environmental chemistry and disaster risk management.
Professional Journey:
Adriana began her career as a Scientific Researcher Chemist at the National Research and Development Institute for Environmental Protection (INCDPM) and held various roles, including Head of the Natural and Technological Hazards Department. She has also worked as a chemist and expert auditor in environmental management systems and has led numerous research projects in the fields of pollution monitoring, sustainable development, and innovative materials.
