Yongdong Pan is a distinguished professor and doctoral supervisor specializing in ultrasonic non-destructive testing and evaluation of load-bearing structures. He is an active member of several professional committees in acoustics and standardization within the aviation industry. A fifth-generation disciple of Wu style Tai Chi, he also serves as the Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the Tongji Teachers Tai Chi Association, promoting the cultural heritage of Tai Chi. His research focuses on acoustic metamaterials, contributing significantly to the field with innovative applications. In 2022, he was awarded the Special Prize of the Science and Technology Award by the China Highway Society.
